good timing – bad timing

4 12 2007

This one’s just for fun.

So yesterday was a big day.  we drove an hour and a bit north to go to universal studios and then we drove 2 and a half hours south to spend the rest of our vaca in San Diego.  We had a few moments of good timing yesterday.

#1 – We were waiting at just the right places throughout the day so Isaac could see Spiderman at Universal.  We waited and waited and then finally we said we are going to see one more show and then we’ll start our big trek to San Diego.  SO we went to the last show and when we came out of it on the way to leave…who was there?…SPIDERMAN!!!  Finally Isaac got to pose with a manly character.

#2 – We got stuck in hollywood traffic on our way back down to San Diego and the kids were like “Are we there yet?” and I was like “We haven’t even gone as far as our last hotel (Anaheim) and we have to drive way past our last hotel”.  Just when traffic started picking up again I told the kids that we were getting close to our old hotel we still had a reasonable drive ahead of us and all of a sudden the Disneyland fireworks kicked in.  They were beautiful (maybe even more beautiful than from inside Disneyland) from the I-5 South.  We got to see the whole show and were basically right under the grand finale.

#3 – We were getting close to our San Diego hotel when all of the kids woke up from snoozing and decided to feel ABSOLUTELY STARVING!  So I punched “in-n-out” into th ehandy dandy rental car upgrade GPS and by the time it loaded the nearest location “Jasmine” (or Jazzy for short for our GPS) said “EXIT NOW EXIT NOW”.  She saved our lives again and we all ate some In-N-Out magic just in the nick of time.

Then today was the Seaworld day.  This was a day of bad timing.  Don’t worry we got to see all we wanted to see.  Nobody starved to death.  There were just three incidents of supremely bad timing.

#1- We were just standing up after watching the wonderful dolphin show when i felt a feeling on the top of my head that could mean only one thing.  Yes I had been shat upon.  One of the birds lurking overhead hoping for some dolphin food unloaded on my nicely feuxhawked locks.

#2- We were somewhere in the middle of the Shamu show where the orcas were showing us their stuff when i experienced a slight graze of the aforementioned excrement on my right wrist.  Only a slight visible trail was left.

#3 – We thought we would take in the last dolphin show of the day as we had enjoyed it immensely (other than the poop problem).  Just as it was nearing its end i felt a thud on my chest and a water droplet like bleup on my bare knee.  Yes my friends it was a carpet bombing.

Both days were a ton of fun.  Goes to show that it doesn’t really matter what each day holds,  if you love the people you are experiencing it with.

Well Jeff your ‘bad timing’ gave me a time of almost uncontrolable laughter! For me it was ‘good timing’!
